In the best of times, poverty in India is forcing many of the poor and underprivileged to suffer from one of the basic necessities of life – FOOD.
Due to the Covid-19 related lockdowns in India, the need is much greater and widespread. Many villagers and their families are going hungry. Generally, the very poor in India work practically every day of the year to sustain their families. So, if they do not work, they literally have to forego meals.
The Covid-19 Lockdown in India over the past few months has meant the meagre savings of many of the poorer villagers have vanished and now they are desperately depending on charity of others to survive.
It is heart-breaking to watch the plight of the poor people of India each day from the comfort of our homes in Australia. To make a small difference, we have setup the Nitai Charitable Foundation
